Final Approach
How to play

Land one plane together. Plan out loud, roll four private dice each, then place them one at a time without a word. Level the plane, manage speed, clear traffic and get the gear, flaps and brakes ready before the runway.

  1. You are a Pilot and a Co-Pilot landing one plane in seven rounds. Talk about the plan, then roll four dice each in private. After that, stay silent until the round ends.
  2. Take turns placing one die on the cockpit. Colors and numbers limit where it can go. Each round both pilots must place one die on the axis and one on the engines, or you lose.
  3. Axis: the plane tilts by the difference between the two dice, toward the higher one. Three marks off level is a spin and you lose. Engines: the sum of the two dice is your speed. Too slow and you hold, in the middle you advance one space, past the top you advance two.
  4. Radio: a die removes a plane that many spaces ahead (a 1 clears your own space). Advancing into a space with planes is a collision, and advancing from the airport is an overshoot. Both lose.
  5. Landing gear (Pilot) and flaps (Co-Pilot, in order) change how speed reads. Brakes (Pilot, in order 2, 4, 6) matter only on the last round. Coffee on the concentration spaces lets any pilot nudge a die by one per token.
  6. To win, reach the airport exactly as the plane touches down, with no planes left, gear and flaps out, the axis level and your final speed under your brakes. Two reroll tokens help on the first and fifth rounds.
